Taking Jesus In

Life On The Hill Church

In this passage, the disciples are obedient to Jesus’ commands, and yet they still find themselves in the midst of a storm. Being obedient does not exempt us from the storms of life, but what God promises is that He will be with us in the midst of these challenges. Just as the disciples took Jesus in their boat, we need to take Him into our heart and life!

Pastor: Rob Orr

Passage: John 6:16-40

Give It To Jesus

Life On The Hill Church

When we understand how the boy in this passage is not simply giving a meal to Jesus to feed the 5,000, but is in fact sacrificing so much more to Him, the story takes on a different level of significance. Do we seek God for our own purposes, or do we give up ourselves to Him like this boy did?

Pastor: Benkai Bouey

Passage: John 6:1-15

Come To Life

Life On The Hill Church

Jesus desires salvation for all, but all too often we look for life in all the wrong places. True life can be had in Christ and is found by walking in His grace.

Pastor: Rob Orr

Passage: John 5:30-47

Do You Want To Be Healed?

Life On The Hill Church

We live in a world where love is mostly transactional, but God wants to teach us about His unconditional love. God does not always give us what we ask for, but will always give us so much more when we are willing to wait on Him.

Pastor: Benkai Bouey

Passage: John 4:43-5:18

Found By God

Life On The Hill Church

In this story of Jesus’ encounter with the woman at the well, we see him pursuing the woman in order to save her soul. And that is the message of the Gospel! God finds us where we are and does the work of salvation that we can never do for ourselves.

Pastor: Rob Orr

Passage: John 4:1-42

Knowing Your Place

Life On The Hill Church

Man’s natural bent is to seek out the darkness. Our nature is corrupt. But Jesus pursues us and changes us, thereby defining our place in relation to Him! He must increase, but I must decrease.

Pastor: Benkai Bouey

Passage: John 3:19-36

Born Again!

Life On The Hill Church

Being born again means to come alive spiritually through faith in Jesus Christ. It is essential to salvation and completely a supernatural act of God’s grace! Salvation is a product of God’s great love, and requires personally receiving Jesus as Lord and Savior.

Pastor: Rob Orr

Passage: John 3:1-21

God And Man

Life On The Hill Church

Jesus knows the evil of the heart of man. Yet despite our sinfulness, God gives us righteousness through Jesus and then wants to give us even more! If we have made Jesus our Lord, we need to become disciples.

Pastor: Benkai Bouey

Passage: John 2

Witnesses To The Light

Life On The Hill Church

The Gospel of John emphasizes the deity of Christ, and John identified Jesus as the Light. John the Baptist, who identified Jesus as the Lamb of God, understood that his place was to reflect the Light. Meanwhile, the disciples identified Jesus as Messiah. Through these witnesses, we come to understand that Jesus is our access to Heaven, and this knowledge should drive us to follow Him and to tell others about Him.

Passage: John 1:19-51

The Greatness Of The King

Life On The Hill Church

The greatness of the resurrection, the greatness of His commission, and the greatness of His promise all point to the greatness of the King! Jesus died and then came back from the grave. No one has ever done this, and no one has ever claimed to be able to do this. There is power in the resurrection, and the resurrection validates who Jesus said He is!

Pastor: Rob Orr

Passage: Matthew 28

The Crucifixion

Life On The Hill Church

God in the flesh subjected Himself to death on our behalf. He was unjustly punished for our guilt, doing something that we could never do of our own power. Jesus made it clear that He freely laid His life down. As a result, no one is to blame, and yet we are all responsible. May this lead us to wait in anticipation of Him, and may we always be hungry for more of Him in our life.

Pastor: Benkai Bouey
