As Christians, it is important that we understand that the Father and the Son are equal. What we believe about Jesus matters, because all life and judgment belong to the Son.

We have a God that loves to delight and surprise His children! And He continually changes us in the midst of His constancy. In the coming year, may we seek to live our lives as Christians and live out what we claim. May we taste and see that the Lord is good!
Jesus is the glory that dwelt among us, that is full of grace, and that makes God known to us! This leads to us becoming humble witnesses and leads us to praise Him!
As Jesus’ death approached, He was grieved and sad to the point of despair. But not because of the coming physical anguish, but because He would become the curse of God’s wrath against our sin and would be separated from God. Yet through all of this, He desires to be obedient and humble unto God’s will over choosing His own well being. And in the midst of this, He takes the time to instruct His disciples to continually watch and pray.
In these parables, Jesus teaches us about the importance of being watchful and being good stewards of the resources God has given us. What does that look like? Rightly living in the reality of His truth. Rather than let fear, guilt, and shame motivate us in our Christian life, we can look to God’s love and have all of the motivation we will ever need!
As Christians, we are invited to share in the suffering of Jesus that it may increase our intimacy with Him and lead to genuine praise of Him! We are not promised a life free of suffering. But in midst of experiencing it, we can always remember the Gospel and keep our eyes fixed on our incredible Savior.

God is sovereign, and we ought to have a high view of our God! As the Parable of the Soils describes, may we be good soil as we hear the message of the Gospel and build our entire life around it!
What you covet will consume you. However, we can find freedom from all of this in the faithfulness of the Father!
We witness God’s providence throughout the Bible and the fulfillment of the scriptures through Jesus. How will we respond? Behold the glory of God and trust in His sovereignty!

God can overcome all. He instructs the Israelites to offer peace to their enemies in this passage, and likewise He offers us His peace even though we are enemies to God because of our sin. At the cross, He places all of our sin onto Jesus, and in exchange, we are given eternal salvation!
